THE VISION AND GOALS OF COACHING

HELPING LEADERS FIND A VISION:

Although Creekside has a vision for the role of LifeGroups in the church, a Coach will create space for the leader to think about or dream about their own group. Your Coach will work with you to create a clear and compelling vision for your group – one that captures your heart and motivates you to action, and at the same time, help you align your vision with the overall vision of the church.

A vision has tremendous power when it’s clear and compelling. It creates a hunger in us for something richer, fuller, or deeper than what we are currently experiencing.

THE GOALS OF A COACH:

A Coach will help their leaders see the value of their work in several key areas.

  1. Spiritual Growth
  2. Giftedness
  3. Community
  4. Their Role in the Church
  5. Ministry Multiplication
  6. Inclusivity

KEEP THE VISION ALIVE:

It’s one thing for the LifeGroup leader to understand the vision for community at Creekside or the vision for how their LifeGroup can change and grow.  But for leaders to own the vision with enthusiasm and to translate it into action requires the help of Coaches to continually recast the vision.

As odd as it sounds, leaders have lives.  We recognize that while you may be passionate about your LifeGroup, we know you have jobs, families and other interests in life.  Most of you are not thinking 24/7 about your small group.  Life can crowd out the vision.  The apostle Paul encouraged Titus to “remind the people” of Crete (Titus 3:1) – a prompting to all of us that vision “leaks”.

There are a number of ways a Coach can help the leader keep the vision alive.
